This morning I took part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. The results of this survey in previous years suggest the numbers of wild British birds are decreasing dramatically, upsetting the balance of the eco-system.
Unfortunately Jack decided to help for some of the time, from his vantage point perched on top a garden chair – we didn’t see a single bird in the garden during the entire hour.
Still there were large periods of time when he wasn’t helping and I still didn’t see a single living thing in the garden, maybe it’s just not a bird friendly garden. Or perhaps the birds are just well aware there are two killer cats living at the property… Or maybe the lack of birdlife in my garden is symptomatic of the wider issue.
