National vegetarian week is technically in May, but I thought I’d give it a go this week. Have a look at these horrible consequences of eating fish:
An estimated 3,500 seals are killed in Scotland alone each year as they are considered a threat to farmed salmon.
Long-line fishing practices kill approximately 300,000 albatrosses and other sea birds each year.
So maybe I’ll have saved a cow or a chicken this week by not eating them, but the indirect consequences of meat-eating are far greater and maybe I’ll have an impact on that.
